Research Activities
The research interests of the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism extends across the spectrum from basic to clinical research and cover many of the disciplines associated with state-of-the-art endocrinological investigation. These include, but are not limited to, endocrine autoimmunity, pathogenesis of type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus, mechanisms underlying insulin resistance, pancreatic development, beta cell differentiation, pathogenesis of obesity, hormonal regulation of cardiovascular function, pathogenesis of osteoporosis, clinical investigation of hypothalamic-pituitary dysfunction and hormonal regulation of gene transcription and cell signaling, and genetic and metabolic studies of lipid metabolism and transport.
